Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry       (Top-up)

Aim

This qualification is aimed at those seeking to work as door supervisors in the private security industry either; applying for an SIA badge with a qualification issued before April 1st 2021, or that already has an SIA badge that needs renewal.

Who this course is for/ entry requirements

  • 18 years +
  • Learner must have achieved Level 3 RQF/QCF Level 6 SCQF Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification or equivalent.
  • First Aid Qualification must be valid for at least 12 months from the start date of course.
  • Learner must be able to communicate effectively in English.

This is an essential qualification for

  • Any SIA Door Supervisor license holders applying to renew their licence after the 1st of October 2021 who were trained before April 1st, 2021.
  • Anyone applying for an SIA Door Supervisors license after the 1st of October holding a Door Supervisors qualification from before April 1st, 2021.

  • Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry
  • Principles of Using Equipment as a Door Supervisor in the private security industry
  • Application of Physical Intervention skills in the Private Security Industry.

Assessment and Qualification

Learners will be assessed using a multiple-choice question papers a portfolio of work and practical observation. There are 2 test papers both with a pass mark of 70%. The first has 72 questions and lasting 110 minutes, the second has 40 questions and lasts 60 minutes. The practical sections will consist of candidate demonstrations of skills and be assessed by a tutor.

Upon successful completion of the course candidates will receive a Level 2 award for CCTV Operators (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry.

How long this course is:

This course has a duration of 2 days learning with the tutor from 9am to 6pm.

There are 8 self-study hours in which candidates will work alone at home to complete a unit using course handbooks
